Protesters in Nashville, Tennessee, interrupted a legislative session on Wednesday as Republican lawmakers are poised to vote on a plan to reshape a majority-Black congressional district.

Tennessee republicans have approved a new congressional map that redraws the state's districts.

The new map splits Shelby County, the home of Memphis, a majority-Black city that played a critical role in the civil rights movement, into three separate Republican-leaning districts.
