As a parent sometimes I forget to extend the grace that I need. You get so wrapped up in wanting to teach your kids what’s right that you forget what they most need when they get it wrong. They need truth. But they also need grace. I’ve found that one of the most powerful things I can do when tensions arise is to show that I’m on their side. I’m for them, not against them. I want grace. So do they. So I extend it. Because I want to point them to the One who gave it first. So they get mad or angr
