Fall colors are finally showing up on the farm — and that means our pastures are starting to slow down and go dormant for the season. 🍁🐮 This time of year, the grass just doesn’t grow fast enough to keep up with the herd’s needs, so we’ve started supplementing with hay. But we’re still rotating them through paddocks — not for the grass, but to control how much hay they get, spread nutrients evenly, and keep the herd calm and content. Even when the pastures stop growing, the planning never does
